Request account or personal-data deletion
Vigil is a business platform used by carrier organizations and the personnel they authorize. Accounts are created by a carrier administrator — there is no public self-registration. This page explains how to request deletion of your Vigil account and associated personal data.
How to request deletion
Email privacy@seevigil.com with the subject Vigil account deletion request, or, if you have the Vigil app, open Legal & Support → Delete account / data request, which starts a pre-filled email to the same address.
Please include:
- the email address associated with your Vigil account;
- your carrier organization name; and
- your role (for example, driver or dispatcher).
What happens next
- We verify your request. For your protection, your request should come from the email tied to your Vigil account. If it does not, or if you are a driver, your carrier administrator may need to authorize the request. We may ask for additional information to confirm your identity and authority.
- We review what can be deleted. We delete or anonymize your login and personal profile information.
- We tell you the outcome — what was deleted or anonymized, and what was retained.
What may be retained
Some records must be kept even after your account is removed. Your carrier organization may retain job, shipment, billing, compliance, and operational records (such as historical Bills of Lading, proof-of-delivery, and invoice data) required for legal, tax, insurance, and business purposes. Audit records, information subject to a legal hold, and security evidence may also be retained where legally, contractually, operationally, or technically required. Retained records may no longer be associated with an active login.
Deletion is a request-and-review process, not an instant self-service erase, and it may not remove every record associated with you.
Different types of information
Your Vigil account touches several kinds of information, which may be treated differently:
- Account access (your login) — generally deleted or disabled.
- Carrier membership — your membership is revoked; the carrier’s records remain the carrier’s.
- Driver profile — personal profile fields are deleted or anonymized; onboarding documents you uploaded are deleted.
- Operational records (jobs, documents, invoices) — retained by your carrier as business records.
